The company was founded by John Page, who began his career in the surety industry in 1987. John is a former Vice president of a top 10, national surety company. According to John, "Working on the Company side of this business for so many years, I realized that most independent agents have, at best, a cursory understanding of surety bonds. After 15 years as a surety bond underwriter, I decided to try and exploit this weakness in the insurance deliver side of the industry and I started Surety1."
